2008 Award categories

Waterwise Plumber
For plumbing industry professionals who have demonstrated effective waterwise practices and displayed initiative in educating their staff and the community. Nominees must be a current member of the Water Corporation's Waterwise Plumber Program.

Waterwise Garden Irrigator
For domestic irrigation industry professionals who have demonstrated effective waterwise practices and displayed initiative in educating their staff and the  community.
Nominees must be a current member of the Water Corporation's Waterwise Garden Irrigator Program.

Waterwise Landscaper
For landscaping industry professionals who have demonstrated effective waterwise practices and displayed initiative in educating their staff and  the community. Nominees must be a member of the Water Corporation's Waterwise Landscaper Program.

Waterwise Garden Centre
For garden industry professionals who have demonstrated effective waterwise practices and displayed initiative in educating their staff and  the community.
Nominees must be a member of the Water Corporation's Waterwise Garden Centre Program.

Waterwise Land Development
For land developers who have demonstrated waterwise practices and  displaying initiatives which educate the community.
Nominees must be a member of the Water Corporation's Waterwise Land Development Program.

Waterwise School
Selected from schools that are participants in the Water Corporation's Waterwise Schools Program, and awarded to the school which best displays the practice and promotion of water use efficiency.

Waterwise Business and Government Agency
Recognises the achievements of organisations who have demonstrated a commitment to improved Water Management, demonstrated effective waterwise practises and displayed initiative in educating their staff and the community.

Nominees must have participated in one of the Water Corporation's Water Management Assessment Sessions (eg. One-2-Five ® Water, Water Achiever®, Water Challenger®.)

Waterwise Business Customer above 100,000 kL - recognises the achievements of a business customer who has demonstrated a commitment to improved Water Management and consumes above 100,000 kilolitres of water.

Business Customers under 100,000 kL - recognises the achievements of a business customer who has demonstrated a commitment to improved Water Management and consumes under 100,000 kilolitres of water.

Government Agency - recognises the achievements of a Government Agency that has demonstrated a commitment to improved Water Management.

Local Government
Recognises the best Water Conservation Plan (Groundwater) by a Local Government.

Management of Water Resources
Recognises excellence in managing one or more components of the water cycle.

Recognises excellence of new products or systems to improve and encourage water conservation.

Award for Excellence
Selected from the winners of the above categories

Assessment criteria - entrants must:

  • Describe how your work has contributed towards water efficiency and the sustainable management and use of water.
  • Provide written examples of your work, which may include drawings and photographs that demonstrate your achievements.
  • Describe the potential for wide community benefit of your work and how you have facilitated water efficiency education of your staff and/or the general public.

Entry Requirements

  • Entrants are required to include their organisation name, a contact name and address as well as contact phone, fax numbers and an email address.
  • Entrants are required to submit a separate application for each Award category for which they wish to be considered
  • Projects must have reached at least pilot production/ verification stage
  • Projects or products should largely be developed in Western Australia
  • Applicants must address ALL assessment criteria to be eligible (max 200 words per criteria)
  • Applicants must provide an Executive Summary (max 100 words)

You may submit additional supporting documentation to assist the judges in evaluating your nomination. Supporting material may include plans, locations, media exposure, photos etc, however all support documentation must be replicated for each category submitted.
